Well, it looks like I'm on a winter themed lunch kick here, so I guess I'll keep it going with a snowman lunch. My kids love the Uncrustable sealed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are in the frozen section of the grocery store. I made my own healthier version using the Pampered Chef Cut-n-Seal tool. I love this thing. There really are so many uses for it. Aside from making the Uncrustable sandwich, it can be used to cut circles from bread, cookie dough, pizza dough.....anything really. It's great for making stuffed pizza pockets, fruit pies, and those super cute sealed half sandwiches. Ummm....wait. I think I'll stop here. I definitely see a Cut-n-Seal blog post in the making.
Anyway, this little guy turned out very cute. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the carrots are cut into tiny snowmen. Cute, huh??

A very Heart-y lunch...
February is usually the month with lunches full of hearts, hearts, and more hearts. But, I love hearts all year round. So, today's lunch is a very hearty lunch. Get it....heart-y lunch?? I like how this lunch turned out especially the frozen strawberry applesauce heart. Hearts just make you happy no matter the time of the year, don't they?
This lunch is packed in Easy Lunch Boxes.
*double heart peanut butter and all-fruit spread sandwiches with heart pick in the center
*honey wheat pretzel sticks

*all natural applesauce with frozen strawberry applesauce heart in the middle (the frozen heart will have thawed by lunchtime.)

The expiration date was still good, so Z and I did a taste test on them, and they got a thumbs up! Gotta love marked down holiday candy!!)

Good Bites sandwich box....
Don't you just love it when you find great things for making lunches when you least expect it? I found this super cute Good Bites sandwich box at ToysRUs the other day, and of course, I just had to get it. I love how it has the 2 separate compartments, and it's a really nice size. There is also a place on the lid for a 'Post It' note message or some other cute sticker. Z had no trouble putting the lid on, either. I paid about $6 for it, so it's pretty inexpensive which is a plus. So, I give the Good Bites sandwich box a thumbs up!

Happy little dinosaur....
All this week, my little guy's class is studying about dinosaurs. We love dinosaurs in our house. So, of course, one of his lunches had to be a dinosaur theme. I froze some of the yogurt in a dinosaur shaped Jello mold to make the frozen yogurt dino. I wish I had frozen a different colored yogurt to make it stand out more, but it's still cute. This is a great idea for keeping the yogurt cold. By lunch time, it will have thawed enough to eat. Plus, this adds a ton of cuteness to a lunch. I've seen several other food bloggers freeze yogurt like this in a variety of cute shapes....stars, animals, flowers. Any cute shape Jello mold or ice cube mold will work great. I'm on the lookout now for cute shaped molds!

Smiley face potato kids....
My little guy is home sick today (insert frowny face here). I picked him up from school yesterday after his teacher called and said he was complaining of a sore throat. By the time I got him home, his fever was 101*. Boo!! I hate it when my kids don't feel well. So, I let him choose his lunch today, and he asked for smiley face potato kids (insert smiley face here). We love these McCain smiley face potato patties. They are all natural and are so stinkin' cute. I hope this lunch cheers Z up.
In this lunch:
*McCain smiley face potato patties
*Oscar Meyer Natural Selects hotdog (I usually buy the Applegate brand preservative free hotdogs and lunch meat, but I found the OM Selects at Walmart and, since they are less expensive than Applegate, thought I'd give them a try.)
*strawberries and Honeycrisp apple wedge for the skirt
*sweet corn
*black olives

Robot Hotdog Man....
Ok.....I LOVE this robot hotdog....so cute, cute, cute!! I wish I could take credit for him, but I saw him on Pinterest a few months ago, and I failed to 'Pin' him to my boards. So, there is a very creative individual out there somewhere whose creative effort is gonna make Z a very happy boy at lunchtime. He had a bit of a disappointing day at school yesterday, so I know this little robot will cheer him up today!

Monster's University lunch...
We love Monsters, Inc. This is a lunch that I made back during the summer when the new Monsters University was released. We, of course, were some of the first ones at the theater the day it was released, and we were so excited that the theater included the cute cup and Pez with the kid's popcorn meal. This lunch went over very well with Z. The cute basket that it's served in actually came from my local dollar store. And I love the Mike apple....he is just crazy cute!!
In this lunch:
*Applegate hotdog slices
*veggie mix and black olives with homemade Monsters U pick
*Monster's U Cheese-Its
*granny smith apple Mike with marshmallow eye and teeth- I used a food safe marker to draw the eye and mouth on the marshmallow.
*peanut butter and all-fruit spread sandwich under the 'scaring school' pennant

Well, I'm so glad to be back to lunch making for Z. Fall break is over, so it's back to school. My hubby, kids, and I had a wonderfully relaxing time last week at the lake, but now it's time to get started on the second quarter of school. Winter break will be here before we know it. Does anyone else think time is just passing too quickly??
Today's lunch has a bee theme.

Tic Tac Toe
It's very unusual for me to post on the weekend because that's my time to spend with my family. But, my kids are on fall break next week (can't believe they have been in school long enough for it to be fall break time), and we are headed to Heber Springs, AR for the week for some R&R....last time before it gets too cold to enjoy. So, I'm posting a lunch that I made back during the summer break. I like making lunches in the summer because I can use things other than a lunch box....a plate, a cute platter, or dish. This lunch went over very well with Z. I'll see if I can squeeze in another lunch from back during the summer about mid week. Have a great week everyone!!
